Linda Ellen recently released her 7th novel and it is an absolute treasure of a story. Sweet Love at Honey Landing is Linda's first official foray into 1800s Historical Fiction. She has released 6 books prior, all taking place in the 30s (Cherished Memories series) and 40s (Soldiers of Swing series), which I also highly recommend. Her latest release, Sweet Love at Honey Landing, is a mail order bride tale with a twist.

Sweet Love at Honey Landing is a post-civil war novel that follows
Angelique DeWitt and Terry Cramer. Angelique, a widow with a five-year-old daughter, Zina, finds herself about to become homeless and in scared desperation, makes a quick decision to become a mail order bride for a man named Thaddeus Billings, a hotel owner in Kansas. But once they step on the ferry boat to start their trip, Angelique starts to wonder if she has done the right thing, especially when disaster strikes. Terry Cramer has had a rough life. Terry, divorced and raising his six-year-old son, now has a prosperous farm and steamboat landing on the banks of the Ohio River, thirteen miles south of Louisville.  Always too busy to go out looking for a female to court, Terry says one would have to drop onto his lap......... and boy does fate deliver! ;)

I thoroughly enjoyed this wonderful story. I am a huge fan of Linda's writing. She is such a gem of a writer. I love her style of writing, she spins her stories in a way that makes them feel like you're watching an Old Hollywood movie. Her stories are good old-fashioned clean reads with everything you could hope for in a great book: sweet romance, endearing and realistic characters, interesting storylines, with some great history packed into them. One of my favorite aspects of Linda's writing is that she always includes great historical facts and details in her stories, which makes them richer and gives them a depth that's often left out of the historical romance genre.

I'd also like to say that the concept behind this new series is very interesting and unique, and I think readers will be intrigued and enjoy it immensely. I was so excited when I found out that this would be a series! I have the privilege of knowing to a degree how the series will be mapped out and believe me, it's going to be so incredible and original. I'm looking forward to the next book in this series and can't wait to see how it all plays out. Until then, I think I'll re-read my new favorite book from Linda. ;)

I would highly recommend Sweet Love at Honey Landing. I'd give it a 10/10.
